14th Grossglockner mountain race

One of Europe’s most known competitions is Grossglockner mountain race which will start the 14th time on the 21st July in Heiligenblut. 

This is a real challenge for the runners and mountain lovers.

We await the guests and participants again with an exhibiton about the topic Running and with diverse programs!

The selective route leads through one of the most spectacular unspoilt landscapes on the globe. The route is a 12.670 m uphill trail course which includes about 1404m of climbing.

After the start in the village centre in front of our hotel the rout is leading the participants through meadows, woods, alpine pastures and rocks. Runners will pass by the legendary Briccius Chapel, the Trogalm, the Martgaritzen Stausse and the Pasterze, the longest glacier in the Eastern Alps, await you before you finally reach the finish at the Franz-Josefs-Höhe. All around you will see the majestic peak of the Austrian Alps the Grossglockner.

in the evening: „Wonder of a Summer night“: evening excursion open-air fireplace and enjoying Gockner Lamm (Glockner Lamb)
